There are no lights in my backyard other than the one just above my back door. I couldn’t see my black dog when she’d be out in the backyard so I installed solar powered motion sensor lights every 6 feet along my fence line and on my deck railing. They even work in -30 weather.

Hallway super dark, there was a weird light at floor level behind some frosted glass that provided dim nightlight brightness and could only be controlled from one end of the hallway. I replaced the light housing with an outlet, swapped the switch for a motion sensor switch, then plugged in a sconce…I’m comfortable with swapping out an existing electrical fixture but would not be comfortable running extra romex behind the wall, and electricians wanted like $800 to do a proper hardwired light. I did this for like $60 and a couple hours of time

My husband figured out how to rewire light switches and electrical sockets, so we never need to pay an electrician to do it. And we also have smart outlets for most of them. We also converted all of our phone wiring to ethernet. It was a weekend project, but it was worth it!

Replaced the static shelves in a cabinet, that sits directly across the dishwasher, with full length pull-out drawers. So when unloading the dishwasher I also can fully pull out the corresponding storage shelves. The drawers and the shelves pull out to be side by side. I just stand there comfortably moving a cup from left to right, from dishwasher to the shelf, push the shelf back into the cabinet, and I’m done without bending or stepping.
